Retune Guide for 2023

As life became more “normal” in 2022, I’ve found myself trying on my pre-pandemic desires and plans, sorting through what to pick back up, and what I’ve outgrown. With some of the intensity of the past few years (hopefully? potentially?) behind me, I feel motivated to move forward, but find myself pausing, taking steps less sure of things I once embraced without question.

Or maybe that’s just being in your twenties.

Perhaps today you feel hopeful going into 2023, energized, excited, more confident than ever before. Or perhaps you feel worn-out, indecisive, or wary. Maybe you feel a combination of both.

However you feel, I hope my Retune Guide for 2023 can be a help! I wrote it with the hope of helping you enter into this new year with peace.

Retune '23's flow will be familiar to those of you who used Retune '22. This year, I've also created a second version of the guide. Version one is my traditional approach inclusive of reflections and questions related to spirituality. Version two excludes mentions of faith. Whatever suits your fancy :)

Feel free to print the PDF out or use it digitally! If you plan on saving paper, the document is tablet compatible - I'll be filling out mine via the Goodnotes App.

This guide is designed to be a tool and not a rubric, so only use it in so far as it is helpful for you. Skip questions, bounce around, adapt, or take a break - whatever will aid you in your intentions with this time.

If you have revelations, comments, concerns, or ideas, I’d be happy to hear. You can drop me a message at info@sophiestoddard.com; I’d love to connect!

To close, words from Amanda Gorman I've been holding onto from her poem Every Day We are Learning,

Every day we are learning

How to live with essence, not ease.

How to move with haste, never hate.

How to leave this pain that is beyond us

Behind us.

Just like a skill or any art,

We cannot possess hope without practicing it.

It is the most fundamental craft we demand of ourselves.

Happy new year!

Warmly,

Sophie
